This week’s meeting at the Drop Bears was an exciting frenzy in the workshop. For the veterans, it marked an incredible milestone in the development of our latest iteration of swerve drive, Swerve Drive Mark 3, were we have begun to fabricate and assemble our first swerve drives after months of careful planning and design. This week the recruits learnt about the fundamentals of The Drop Bears’ workshop, and exercised their new found skills by making their own phone stands out of aluminium.

By completing this task the recruits learnt the basics of design drawings, bolt and drill sizes, and how to safely operate some power tools, all of which will prove themselves very handy skills come build season 2019. Overall a very productive meeting, we hope to be testing our swerve drives by next week, and have some exciting software lessons planned for the recruits.
