The Drop Bears usually competes in three competitions, two in Australia, and one overseas. For more information visit their website here.  The Drop Bears usually competes in an overseas competition the exact time and location is up to the team to decide.

We take our new intake of recruits in July each year. Our website will have a form to register your interest from May each year. Please check back then and fill in the form

Our team meets once a week on Sunday during offseason from 1000 to 1600 . During build season, a schedule will be given out detailing exactly how often we will be meeting around 5 times a week.

We meet at the Faculty of Engineering in The University of Sydney.

We are registered for the Science Park Taichung Regional ( Taiwan 5-8 March) ,Southern Cross Regional (Sydney 15th-17th March)and South Pacific Regional ( Sydney20th-22nd March)

Build season starts around early January and finishes mid-February, around the 21st. During this time, the team designs and builds the robot for the upcoming competition, which is usually in mid-March.

Off-season is after build season. During the off-season, we recruit and teach rookies the skills they will need, and we work on long-term projects.

No experience is required to join but a passion for learning is very helpful.  If you do have experience then it will help you even more.

The mentors are responsible for all of the activities directly related to the running of the team, but we always appreciate help with the things that make life better in a broad sense. This might involve helping us to secure further sponsors (our sponsorship prospectus is here), helping to provide car-pools and transport for team members (and the robot!) to events, organising trips to overseas regionals, or bringing in a meal for the team during Build Season. If you think you can help us, please contact one of the mentors.
