This week we divided up into several groups based on aspects of this year’s FRC Deep Space, these include cargo, climb, hatch, vision, autonomous, drive-base. Between the groups it has been chaotic, testing prototypes and adjusting designs. This week great strides were made in the cargo and hatch group as we have a tested and confirmed that our designs work effectively. The next step was to start creating the final CAD, (Computer Aided Design) this fleshes out in detail all the parts making up the system so that the design can be passed onto other people to fabricate. The climb mechanism managed to create a prototype for their mechanism and hasn’t finished thoroughly testing it as there is a lot of pressure on this system because if it fails the whole robot could fall and break. Apart from that we’ve been making progress.
